Square Enix and Sprint Partner to Offer Mobile Games to Vision Subscribers

LOS ANGELES, Calif., (E 3 Expo) ( May 12, 2004) — Square Enix™ (Square Enix Co., Ltd. and Square Enix U.S.A., Inc.), an industry leading developer and publisher of interactive entertainment content including the world's popular franchises FINAL FANTASY® and DRAGON QUEST, and Sprint (NYSE: FON, PCS), which operates the largest all-digital, all-PCS nationwide wireless network, today announce d a partnership to offer Square Enix's mobile games content to Sprint PCS Vision subscribers.

Best known for popular and critically acclaimed console and online games, Square Enix is a leading wireless content provider in Japan with over 70 titles currently released in the market. Square Enix is committed to leveraging this success in Japan to bring new and exciting branded content and wireless games to the rapidly growing US mobile entertainment market. In March 2004, Square Enix acquired UIEvolution, an industry-leading provider of wireless software technology, to accelerate the development and deployment of rich content for mobile phones. The technology will allow Square Enix to deliver a high quality user experience that will entertain the broadest number of Sprint Vision subscribers with new compelling content services.
