SQUARE ENIX SHIPS FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST™ 2: CURSE OF THE CRIMSON ELIXIR TO RETAILERS JULY 12, 2005
"The new story and enhanced gameplay of FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST 2 will appeal to devoted fans and newcomers alike," said Ichiro Otobe, president and COO of Square Enix, Inc. "Through the game, players explore completely new elements of the story not found in the anime series. And the new attacks and combos take the adventure to a higher level. Enhanced visual style, speed and voiceovers improve upon the original title, making FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST 2 a truly enjoyable game."
FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST 2 begins in Lior, the desert city that the Elric brothers, Edward and Alphonse encounter in the first episode of the anime series. Just as the brothers are unveiling the secrets of a cult called Leto, they engage in a battle with creatures from the unknown. Immediately after this, they encounter a mysterious woman who hands the brothers a ring and then disappears without a trace.
Key features of FULLMETAL ALCHEMIST 2 include an enhanced and highly intuitive alchemy system, beautifully rendered cel-shaded graphics and nearly 30 minutes of animated cut-scenes created specifically for the game, complementing the fast-paced story that will keep players on the edge of their seats. In addition, a bonus DVD features an advance look at the first two episodes of season 2, which airs in the Fall of 2005. Complete episodes included are #27 "Teacher" and #28 "One is All, All is One."
