The witty personality weaved throughout Radiata Stories has charmed editors across the industry:
"Radiata Stories is a perfect example of many elements coming together seamlessly to create a compelling whole... Itfs this mixture of personality and content that earns Radiata Stories a place among Square Enix's greatest adventures, and certainly the best straight-up RPG so far this year."
(Game of the Month)
- Game Informer Magazine, October 2005
"Radiata Stories wraps its standard fantasy fare with lots of goofy humor, making it a lighter, more amusing adventure overall."
- Official PlayStation Magazine, October 2005
"Even though I'm only a couple of hours into the final English build, I've already met a diverse cast of weirdoes, jerks, and prima-donnas -- and I like each and every one of them... And I have to admit, that after spending a lot of time spell casting my way through several of Square Enix's heavier RPGs, the lighthearted approach is more than welcome."
-IGN, August 26, 2005
The tale begins in the kingdom of Radiata, which lies in a world where humans and fairy creatures coexist. It is here that the protagonists, Jack and Ridley, meet for the first time. While Jack seeks to become a knight, Ridley must accept her fate in becoming one. The outrageous events that occur while they are training take a turn when Jack is forced to decide which side he will fight for. Destinies are realized when a war erupts between the humans and the fairy creatures and threatens to end the world of Radiata.
