LOS ANGELES (June 22, 2010) — TAITO Corporation (TAITO®), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Square Enix Holdings Co., Ltd., today announced the worldwide release of the SPACE INVADERS® Gizmos series of applications for the iPhone and iPod touch. Each of the seven utility apps features retro characters and themes from the classic SPACE INVADERS arcade game.
The SPACE INVADERS Gizmos series of utilities includes a calculator, clock, timer, battery meter, flashlight, memory status checker, and business card application. From the app that lets users exchange and collect digital business cards to the SPACE INVADERS—gimmick filled calculator, each of the applications has been designed with both form and function in mind.

SPACE INVADERS Business Cards
This application allows users to make their own digital business cards featuring their favorite SPACE INVADERS characters. (Patent pending.) In addition to the standard contact information, space has been provided for a homepage link, Twitter account, etc. Touching the Twitter account name displays that user's most recent tweet. Business cards created with this app may be transferred to others—physically "slid" from one touch screen to another—via a Bluetooth® connection and stored in the included card album. It's also possible for two iPad owners to exchange business cards, or between an iPhone and an iPad, spreading the fun even further. (This application was designed for the iPhone and iPod touch but is also compatible with the iPad.)
SPACE INVADERS Calculator -FREE-
This calculator app is packed with hidden SPACE INVADERS-themed gimmicks, with game sound effects played whenever calculations result in certain special numbers associated with the classic arcade game.

SPACE INVADERS Battery Meter
Decorated in cool SPACE INVADERS design motifs, this handy battery meter application shows how much battery power and usage time remains. Remaining time estimates are provided separately for a variety of categories: standby, music playback, video playback, web browsing, and voice conversation.
Other tools
The SPACE INVADERS Memory Status application gives you up-to-date information about how much of the device's memory is in use, while the Flashlight illuminates dark spaces with glowing SPACE INVADERS characters. Boasting plenty of retro arcade flavor, the SPACE INVADERS Clock stylishly keeps the time while featuring periodic appearances by a familiar enemy. Ideal when cooking, the Timer counts down the minutes and seconds, SPACE INVADER-style.
