SQUARE ENIX’S E3 SHOWCASE EARNS WIDE MEDIA AND INDUSTRY ACCLAIM

HITMAN ABSOLUTION (GameSpot’s Best of Show Winner) and TOMB RAIDER (Multiple Game Critics Awards Nominee) Spearhead More Than 140 Awards and Nominations

LOS ANGELES (June 30, 2011)Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas is proud of the reception for its E3 2011 lineup as one of the strongest it has ever enjoyed. The E3 show, conducted annually in Los Angeles, is considered a vital springboard for both mainstream and core gamer awareness of the world’s hottest emerging games.

  • HITMAN® ABSOLUTION™ (IO Interactive): Agent 47’s return struck a chord with judges as it picked up 19 wins, including GameSpot, who awarded the game Best of Show: "We didn't know what to expect going into the show," the popular games outlet concluded, "but now HITMAN ABSOLUTION is easily one of our most anticipated games."
  • TOMB RAIDER® (Crystal Dynamics): Nominated for three Game Critics Awards and winner of 21 awards including Best Action Game (IGN), the new, grittier reimagining of Lara Croft became one of the biggest stories of the show, igniting the imagination of industry and media alike.
  • DEUS EX®: HUMAN REVOLUTION™ (Eidos Montreal): Enthusiasm for the return of the legendary DEUS EX franchise keeps building ahead of its August 23 retail date, with PC Gamer’s "Most Valuable Game" award just one of many prestigious accolades.
  • FINAL FANTASY® XIII-2 (Square Enix Tokyo): The bold continuation of the FINAL FANTASY XIII storyline met with multiple "Best RPG" and "Best of Show" nominations, and also won "Best Response to Fan Feedback" from respected outlet GamesRadar.
