LOS ANGELES (September 1, 2011) — Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of SQUARE ENIX® interactive entertainment products in the Americas, is pleased to announce the promotion of Clinton Foy to chief operating officer effective September 1, 2011. Mr. Foy's responsibilities include leading the company's new business development initiatives, business and legal affairs department, and online group. Additionally, Mr. Foy will continue to serve as the company's general counsel. Mr. Foy has been with Square Enix for six years as vice president of business and legal affairs and general counsel.

Prior to Square Enix, Mr. Foy was an attorney with Heller Ehrman, LLP, working in both its Seattle and San Francisco offices where he represented clients such as Microsoft, Yahoo!, Fujitsu and Sony.
Mr. Foy earned a Bachelor of Arts from the University of Notre Dame, a Master of Arts from Stanford University Graduate School, and a Juris Doctor from the University of Washington School of Law.
