SQUARE ENIX ANNOUNCES DEVELOPMENT OF THREE BATTLE AREA ADD-ON SCENARIOS FOR FINAL FANTASY XI LAUNCHING IN 2010

New content to complement the vast world of Vana’diel in hugely popular MMO game

LOS ANGELES (February 28, 2010) — Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix® interactive entertainment products in North America, in conjunction with VanaFest 2010, a fan event for players of the hugely popular MMO (Massively Multiplayer Online) game FINAL FANTASY® XI, announced today the development of three new add-on scenarios, slated to launch throughout 2010. This content will introduce new stages for epic combat, providing high-level players with new equipment to collect and challenging monsters to battle.


The first of these three battle area add-on content packages, titled "Vision of Abyssea™", is scheduled to launch early in the summer of 2010, and will be followed by two additional releases, "Scars of Abyssea™" and "Heroes of Abyssea™". These content packages will be available via the PlayOnline® Viewer, at the price of $9.99 each, with content available immediately upon purchase.


The previously released expansion packs RISE OF THE ZILART® and WINGS OF THE GODDESS® will be required to experience this new content. These add-on scenarios will release simultaneously online within all supported regions (North America, Japan and Europe) across all supported platforms (PlayStation®2 computer entertainment system, Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and Windows® PC). Just Cause 2 adds support for latest NVIDIA technologies

Support for 3D Vision and advanced hardware shaders amp up PC release

LONDON (March 2, 2010) — Square Enix London Studios, a part of Square Enix Europe, today revealed that the PC release of Just Cause® 2 will feature a suite of advanced graphical enhancements supported by NVIDIA® GPUs, including next-generation lighting and water routines and full support for 3D Vision, adding further immersion into the graphically rich game.


Working closely with engineers at NVIDIA, developer Avalanche Studios has incorporated support for NVIDIA CUDA technology which helps to deliver a higher level of visual fidelity within the game's environments. CUDA-enhanced features in Just Cause 2 include incredible in-game effects, with rivers, lakes and oceans beautifully rendered with realistic rising swells, flowing waves and ripples, while advanced photographic Bokeh lens techniques add an additional cinematic quality to the look and feel of the game. Just Cause 2 has also been optimised to take full advantage of NVIDIA 3D Vision technology on compatible hardware, creating an incredibly immersive 3D experience.

Latest in FINAL FANTASY Series - FINAL FANTASY XIII Achieves Over 5 Million Unit Shipments Worldwide

TOKYO, JAPAN (March 10, 2010) — Square Enix Co., Ltd. (Square Enix) announced today that sell-in shipments of the hugely popular FINAL FANTASY®XIII have now exceeded the 5 million unit milestone. FINAL FANTASY XIII was released on March 9, 2010 in North American, European and other PAL markets where it's available for both the PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system.


With shipments of FINAL FANTASY XIII in North America and PAL territories surpassing 3 million units as well as strong sales since launch on December 17, 2009 in Japan, cumulative shipments of the FINAL FANTASY series have now reached 96 million units.


From the release of the first FINAL FANTASY in 1987, this unique RPG series has continued to offer the industry's most advanced graphics, highly imaginative worlds and rich stories as it gains the highest accolades from users around the world. Story

SQUARE ENIX AND WILDSTORM STUDIOS TO CREATE THREE-PART COMIC THAT WILL EXPLORE THE MIND-BENDING STORY BEHIND THE UPCOMING ACTION-RPG NIER

Series Reveals Unexplained Back Stories of Nier, Yonah, Kainé and Grimoire Weiss; Details Fall of Humanity to The Black Scrawl

LOS ANGELES (March 17, 2010)Square Enix, Inc., the publisher of Square Enix® interactive entertainment products in North America, is partnering with DC Comics imprint Wildstorm to create a custom comic series that will explore the rich and mysterious back story of the upcoming Action-RPG NIER™. NIER, whose unique content, characters and hidden, twisting storyline has transfixed gamers and media alike for months, will be available for PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system and the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft at North American retail outlets on April 27, 2010.

The NIER comics will be available on the game's official Web site at http://www.NIERGame.com, on Xbox LIVE® Arcade for the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, and on PlayStation®Store for PlayStation3 between now and April 27. The comics will reveal tantalizing clues about key characters from the game, including the title-character Nier; his disease-stricken daughter, Yonah; a conflicted and foul-mouthed fighting companion, Kainé; and, the talking book with an attitude, Grimoire Weiss. In addition, the NIER comics will address questions that have yet to be answered, namely, what sequence of events led to the fall of humanity? How was the deadly disease, The Black Scrawl, introduced to the earth? And, where did the terrifying Shades come from and why do they torment the few remaining survivors?

There will be three NIER comics in all, each telling a unique, yet overlapping story. The comics are being created by some of DC Comics' most renowned creators and illustrators, including Emmy-winning creator and executive producer Ricardo Sanchez; Pop Mhan, whose work has appeared on everything from Spider-Man and Ghost Rider at Marvel Comics to Batgirl and The Flash at DC Comics; Eddie Nuñez, who works on the soon-to-be released DC Universe MMO; and, Carlos D'Anda, who has worked on notable comic book titles such as Justice League of America, Deathblow, and Lego's Bionice, was the lead Character Designer on the bestselling Warner Bros. A raw and brutal crime shooter, Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days follows two disturbed criminals, Lynch — an impulsive and reckless self-medicated psychopath and Kane — a tactical but disillusioned and desperate ex-mercenary, through 48 hours of hell.

JUST CAUSE 2 SHIPS TO RETAIL THIS WEEK

Hugely anticipated free-roaming action game arrives March 23rd in North America and March 26th in Europe, Middle East and Australasia.
